Curriculum, Instruction & Accountability Web Resources to Help Your Student Keep on Learning There are many, many educational resources available on the world wide web that can help students continue their education. Below are links to some resources that are closely related to the work students do in their classrooms. Highlights for High School offers MIT Open Courseware resources selected for their usefulness to high school students. Textbook Related ResourcesMany textbook publishers offer extensive online resources to support and enhance students’ understanding. Middle School and High SchoolHolt, Rinehart and Winston offers access to online textbooks and additional interactive learning resources. Pearson Prentice Hall has Bonus Features to support their textbooks in Language Arts, Science, Math, and History/Social Science. Look here if your math textbook is from McDougal-Littell. 8th graders who use Glencoe’s Discovering Our Past: American Journey have resources, too. Elementary School – Grades K-5If you’re using Houghton Mifflin Reading, you can find resources for students and for families. Look here for Houghton Mifflin California Math. Students using Scott Foresman History and Science books have individual log-ins. Other Links with Educational Activities for you and your StudentThinkfinity has lots of lesson plans and educational resources. You can learn about the H1N1 virus, too. National Geographic Kids offers articles, stories, videos, and games to help students learn about their world. Time for Kids has current news stories and related activities. CNN Student News offers current news and activities to help students understand and analyze the day’s news. Discovery Education offers many challenging activities for students including Brain Boosters. Ology, the American Museum of Natural History's site for kids, contains fun and educational activities about astronomy, biodiversity, Einstein, genetics, marine biology, paleontology, and much more. Read Print is a library of free online books and biographical sketches of their authors. RIF Reading Planet is full of activities targeting the elementary grades. Students can write book reviews, illustrate stories, write stories, and send postcards. Students can share their book reports at Book Hooks , read about what others have read, or play games. PBS Online offers streaming video of some shows, background info for many series, and PBS Kids.
